After 30 years, Jon Davis is Retiring

A letter from Jon Davis

Dear friends, colleagues, clients, and the Jacksonville community,

After more than three decades leading Sight & Sound Productions and Mugwump Productions, I will be retiring from my day-to-day role as President and CEO and moving fully into my Board position, effective January 2026.

Reaching this point has given me a chance to look back on the journey, and I’m honestly overwhelmed with gratitude for the people who helped shape it. This isn’t goodbye it’s just the next chapter and a different way for me to support the company I care deeply about and the city that has meant so much to me.

When I first started with Sight & Sound, we were just a small team with a couple of vans, running around Jacksonville delivering equipment to hotel ballrooms and doing whatever it took to help our clients. From those humble beginnings, something pretty special grew. That happened because this community believed in us, supported us, and gave us the opportunity to prove ourselves.

Jacksonville welcomed us, pushed us, trusted us, and allowed our team to play a role in thousands of events, celebrations, and milestones. Being part of those moments for almost 30 years has truly been one of the greatest honors of my life.

Our success was never about the size of the events it was always about how we treated people. Taking care of every client and paying attention to every detail became who we are. That mindset humility, creativity, and figuring things out no matter what still drives the company today.

As I transition into my board role, I do so with complete confidence in our Executive Leadership Team, Jennifer Trent, Alfredo Garcia, Victoria Staszewski, Elisha Jordan, and Eileen Tyrrell, led by our new CEO, Blasko Ristic. Many of them have been part of this journey for many years, helping shape who we are today. Alongside our dedicated staff, they are fully prepared to lead this organization into its next chapter. Our clients can expect the same consistency, care, and quality they’ve always known. This company is in exceptional hands, and I’m excited to support the long-term vision as we continue to grow across the Southeast.

To our clients: thank you for trusting us with your events and ideas. You helped shape who we are today.

To my friends, business partners, vendors, and colleagues throughout Jacksonville: thank you for your support, your encouragement, and your friendship. The relationships built over the years have meant as much to me as the work itself.

To our team: you are the heart of this company. Your dedication, talent, and commitment to our culture are the reason we’ve come this far and the reason the future looks so bright. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together.

Even though my role is changing, my commitment to Sight & Sound, Mugwump, and this community is steadfast. Jacksonville has been my home, my career, and my community and I am truly grateful.

Thank you for 30+ years of support, partnership, and friendship. I look forward to continuing the journey with you, just from a different seat.

With sincere gratitude,

Jon Davis
